After 43 years of addiction, Debra Rowe now feels as though she is on a path to a new life, due at least in part to her new home in one of Nanaimo’s supportive housing residences.
Sober for the last seven months, it was just last summer that Rowe (with a daily habit of crack and alcohol) lay near death in a hospital bed in Kamloops with failing kidneys and was told to contact family members so they could come retrieve her body.
