Pacific Coast Stage Company presents the 6th annual Nanaimo Fringe Festival in the heart of downtown Nanaimo from August 11 – 21, 2016
The annual Nanaimo Fringe Festival kicks off this year in downtown Nanaimo on August 11th, 2016. There will be 48 shows split between the Harbour City Theatre (25 Victoria Rd) and the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (80 Commercial St). Late night shows run Thursday through Saturday, with matinees Saturday and Sunday.
International and local theatre companies to perform
International and local theatre companies will showcase their new scripts, comedies and edgy material on Nanaimo Fringe stages. Watch for events by performers from Nanaimo in Busted (image left), a mashup of drag performance and theatre; The Wideness and Wonder of Georgia O’Keeffe, a celebration of the magic and wonder of Georgia O’Keeffe and Noir-ish a wannabe actor, wrapped up in a mystery (image right).
Keats: A One Man Play is performed by another local artist from Qualicum Beach who relives the tragic and inspiring moments of life of the poet John Keats. Lucid Dramatics brings their quirky solo show: Murder Blood Bear Story from Los Angeles. Two comedies, Belle Paris and Legends of Canada, both come to the festival from Calgary; and travelling to us all the way from Australia is Trent Baumann’s 5 star I Forgot to Fly Today.
