From concussion to stroke, acquired brain injury changes lives. People with acquired brain injuries face significant transitions, from hospital to home or from who they were to who they are now. These transitions have a huge impact on the everyday lives of survivors, as well as their family and friends.

Nanaimo Brain Injury Society (NBIS) held a public symposium in November 2017 titled, “Now What? Journeying Through Community Reintegration After A Brain Injury.” The symposium was designed to help participants learn what reintegration of the “new normal” means, identify the gaps in services and “be the change that you would like to see” by forming alliances with people with lived experience, healthcare and service providers.

People First Media partnered with NBIS to produce and share audio from the seminar. Listen to the podcasts below.
